Sex is a subject that I have never been comfortable with. My parents NEVER mentioned it & would divert the subject if Charles or I brought it up, which I doubt that we did. There was no formal sex education either. We learned “in the neighborhood." It was a “dirty” topic.
My first personal introduction to the pleasure of sex came from sliding down the bannister rail at 87 West Wesley. Wow! But I had no concept of any connection other than how sensational it felt in the part of my body usually left unmentioned.
I remember how disgusted I felt when Stocky Broome told me about female menstruation. I didn’t believe it! It was so unfair!
The Boy Scout Handbook told us to stay away from that part of our body….which I did not…
