A friend of mine from Xerox, George White, had befriended Lia Belli, the ex-wife of Melvin Belli, a very famous attorney in San Francisco. One evening, George invited me to a party at Lia’s apartment, at which I met two quite famous men: Joe Dimagio and Russian ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev. Both were quite sociable.
