Born and raised in Atlanta; GA; two marriages, wife of 43 years: Patricia Johnson; 2 children, 2 step children; now lives at Wesley Palms, retirement community in San Diego; Georgia Tech: BS; Harvard: MBA; USAFR: Captain; pioneer in computer technology at TRW and Xerox: a TRW computer he installed is in the Smithsonian as the first digital industrial control system; two computers he helped develop at Xerox were the nodes of the first Internet message; venture capitalist: he served on 35+ boards of high-tech companies, mostly start-ups; Unitarian Universalist for 45 years; several volunteer boards in theological and conservation organizations; active birder & traveler - has seen over half of the Earth’s species;
